Misty Wills made her ACT 2 debut with What The Bellhop Saw in March playing a mean and nasty character. This time she is tackling some very different roles.
“This only being my 2nd play with ACT 2, the characters I portray in Most Massive Woman Wins is quite different then that I played in What the Bellhop Saw. I play Carly, a lady whom life has made cold, but yet still suffers from society’s neglect and longs to fit in… In Overtones I play Harriet, in which I am a high class cultured woman, who must by all means hide my embittered and angry inner-self.
I have the utmost respect for my cast mates for they have invited me in and continue to teach me in ways I never thought possible, I adore them all.”
Misty always knew she would be a performer of some sort. In her early years she participated in Christmas and Easter programs at church and by the age of 16 realized she was already an entertainer. She loves to make people laugh. Even so, she says,
“I‘ve learned that even though these characters aren’t mean, or even funny, that it’s easy for me to relate to them in one way or another…that every person has many sides that everyone can relate to. The hardest transition in characters for me have been that it’s not as active. And to sit for period of times makes me very anxious and uneasy, but am learning to deal with that. The most fun has definitely been getting to interact with everyone. Everyone’s personalities differ which makes for great fun for a joker like me! It’s a challenge everyday of how I can make the many personalities laugh. That’s what I do.”
Now as a mother of 2 teenagers she is finally able to chase her dreams in theatre. Misty lives in Salem, WV.
