Jessica LeMasters has been working with ACT 2 since high school. She took a few years off and then came back to stage manage Reasons To Be Pretty a few years ago. After crewing a couple more shows she finally auditioned for a role and moved from the darkness of backstage to under the stage lights in Holy Cannoli. We asked her to talk a little about her experience in Overtones, one of the 2 one-acts in “Set Me FREE!” Here’s what she had to say.
“This will be my second show with the ACT 2 Theatre Company, it is quite different from the first show I had done. The first show, Holy Cannoli was a hilarious show. This show, Overtones, deals with the primitive self vs. the more cultured self. It does have a few sarcastic moments . Working on this show has helped me expand my acting skills, acting like a sophisticated person is a bit different than being a sarcastic teenager.
The ladies I am working with are very awesome to work with and we have had some great laughs. I hope to work with them in future shows. Thank you, Cricket, for giving me a chance to be in one of your shows, even tho I didn’t think I had a chance. I hope to make you proud! I am excited to be in this show and I am looking forward to all my friends and family coming back and supporting me in this show! <fingers crossed>.”
