STONE TOUCHIN’ by Donald Fidler opens this Thursday, October 15. The cast of this play includes a wealth of theatre experience and introduces Clarksburg audiences to a young man making his first ACT 2 Theatre appearance. Loki Agamemnon Hall (Howard Lee) is brand new to ACT 2 but not to the stage; his theatre debut was Mountain Mother Goose at Fairmont State University in 2012. He has been dancing since he was four and started with The Studio for Performing Arts in Clarksburg in 2009 and most recently he performed in Disney World. Though he is only eleven, he has big dreams. He hopes to be the Nutcracker in the ballet. He is also intent on being a paleontologist, a video game designer, a genetic engineer creating dragons, and maybe even an inventor of teleportation devices.
Steve Goff (Reverend Phil) is a comedian, actor and writer who has taught creativity and improv workshops for over 20 years. An accomplished and versatile character actor, Steve has been featured in a number of theater productions in WV, PA, NC, MD, and VA. A native of Clarksburg, he had roles in the ACT 2 productions I Take This Man and Sleeping Indoors. In 1995 he played notorious Harrison County killer, Harry Powers in an Clarksburg Arts Center production. Steve is also a freelance writer and consultant for several regional non-profits. Steve lives with his wife Beth in Harrison County.
Hunter Riley (Lukas Andrews Jr.) has had the theatre bug since he was 8-years-old. His most recent roles with ACT 2 have been in The Fantasticks, Holy Cannoli, and Polterguest. As a student at Robert C. Byrd High School he performed in several theatre productions including Grease, Guys and Dolls, Beauty and The Beast, and Little Shop of Horrors. He also enjoys other performing arts, along with drawing and playing musical instruments.
John Hall (Ray Joe Philips) is thrilled and honored to be part of his first ACT 2 show. At Fairmont State University he was CB in Defying Gravity, Bull and the Football Hooligan in Poof! Plus: an evening of one acts, and John Eye Blevin in Rocket Boys the Musical. John is a graduate of Fairmont State University with a history degree. John is the head of a budding theatre troupe including his wife, Cricket, and three kids, Loki, Persephone, and Rhapsody.
Cricket Hall (Margie Frump Amos) is excited to be back again with ACT 2. She most recently directed Set Me Free! and even made a stage appearance. When she is not acting or directing, she is busy raising and teaching her three children and going to Chicago Theological Seminary. Cricket is also a playwright. Last December, ACT 2 sponsored an open public reading of her play One in Four at Waldomore. She also costume designed ACT 2’s show, What the Bellhop Saw.
Misty Wills (Janie Amos) most recently appeared in Set Me Free! She made her ACT 2 debut in What The Bellhop Saw in March this year. In her early years she participated in Christmas and Easter programs at church and by the age of 16 realized she was already an entertainer. Now as a mother of 2 teenagers she is finally able to chase her dreams in theatre. “I have the utmost respect for my cast mates for they have invited me in and continue to teach me in ways I never thought possible, I adore them all.” Misty lives in Salem, WV.
Cyndy Simons-Straight (Post Mistress Elizabeth Hanson) Cyndy has been involved in local community theater for 40 years. She began her involvement at the Clarksburg Art Center, working behind the scenes and backstage before venturing onstage. Once onstage, Cyndy got “bitten by the performance bug,” and has played numerous roles in local community theater groups including the ArtCenter, ACT 2, Fairmont Town and Gown and Seven Stories Theatre. Favorite roles include, M’Lynn in Steel Magnolias, Jenny in Chapter Two, Mother Superior in Nunsense, and Yenta the Matchmaker in Fiddler on The Roof. Cyndy is a retired elementary school teacher and now lives in Fairmont with her husband, Ron. They have five children and three grandchildren.
Fred Spicer (Gravedigger) is employed by Dominion Resources. He is a Pittsburgh native, but came to West Virginia as a student at WVWC and has been here ever since. He is married to Janice and has 2 children—Jackie, a shift supervisor at Starbucks and veteran of many ACT 2 shows, and Matthew, a graduate engineering student at Virginia Tech. This is his first show with ACT 2. His biggest roles have been Stephen/Jesus in Godspell and Japheth in Two By Two. He has also played Jesus in Clarksburg First United Methodist Church’s recurring Passion Play.
