Kaici is one of 5 actresses who will be performing the Set Me FREE! one act plays this month. We thought you’d like to know a little about them. Kaici’s up first!
Kaici Ellison, formerly known as Kaici Lore, is a recent graduate of Fairmont State University where she not only served as President of FSU Masquers and became a member of the Alpha Psi Omega Fraternity Alpha Cast, but she also co-founded the V-Day Warriors club with director Cricket Hall to foster a safe environment for victims, survivors, and allies of all types of abuse. She hails from the bustling Eastern Panhandle, Martinsburg to be exact. She graduated from Martinsburg High School in 2010 and most of her family still lives in Martinsburg. She is currently working as Props Master for Fairmont State’s production of The Music Man, which will be performed at Prickett’s Fort. Kaici recently married Canaris Ellison, who not only sound designed Set Me FREE!, but also assisted Kaici as Assistant Props Master for The Music Man this summer.
Kaici is no stranger to the theatre. Both of her parents are actors and performers. Her mother, Stephanie Lore, currently performs at Shepherd University with the Masterworks Chorale as well as performs in A Touch of Velvet, a female quartet based in Martinsburg, WV. Stephanie also won Best Actress at the WV State Thespian Festival her senior year in high school. Kaici’s father, Howard Lore, is the one that got Kaici into theatre with the Youth Summer Theatre Workshop Program run by The Apollo Civic Theatre in Martinsburg, WV. He served as a board member and event coordinator from 2004-2010. He has also acted onstage with his daughter in a short play version of the television show Happy Days, in which he played Mr. Cunningham and Kaici was ensemble. Howard is also in the Keystone Indoor Drill Association Hall of Fame for his years of service.
Kaici plans to eventually become an equity actor and touring comedienne. She will eventually be seeing playing Galinda Upland in Wicked, Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray, Madame de la Grande Bouche in Beauty and the Beast, and Miss Mona in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, her second dream role behind Galinda. She also plans to move to Texas with her husband and start a family and an herbal goods supply store that sells goods to those who follow in her spiritual journey and footsteps. She wants to thank everyone that has ever given her the opportunity to perform, but especially to the two people that have taken the biggest risks casting her – Dr. John O’Connor and Cricket Hall. These two people have presented her with characters that have grown Kaici into the woman she is today and she thanks the two of them with all her heart. She also wants to thank her parents for presenting theatre to her. If it weren’t for Stephanie and Howie showing her the amazing experience that is acting, Kaici would be getting her doctorate in Forensic Anthropology. Phew! Dodged a bullet, ladies and gentleman.
We’re excited to have Kaici in this cast and working with ACT 2!
