“Star Spangled Girl” cancelled

cancelled show poster

Our fall show, The Star Spangled Girl, was cast a few of weeks ago and we started rehearsals, but we lost an actor shortly after that. We posted a plea on Facebook for an actor to step up, but no one did, so we have had to cancel the show. This is very disappointing. It’s not the first time in the last few years that we’ve had to cancel a show for lack of actors. But we’re looking forward…

We have 2 more shows on our schedule, The Trip to Bountiful (April) and reasons to be pretty. (June)

We recently lost our director for “..Bountiful” so we’re looking for another to fulfill that role for that play. Beau Bowden, formerly of Clarksburg now of Los Angeles, will be directing “..pretty.”

We’ll be announcing the complete cast and personnel needs for those shows soon.

In the meantime, if you’re interested in being involved in either of these productions, and want to know more about the stories and the roles, the Goodman Theatre has a good study guide that you can download about “The Trip to Bountiful” at http://www.goodmantheatre.org/Documents/Study%20Guides/0708%20Season/

The Almeida Theatre in London has terrific background and study guide for “reasons to be pretty” that you can downloaded at http://www.almeida.co.uk/education/productions-and-publications/educational-resource-packs/.
